Domaine Coutelier

Without a shadow of doubt Quint and Floriane Cutler, with their special French connection, have been heavily influenced by the Bordeaux Left Bank, the unsurpassable Burgundy Chardonnays and to a lesser extent the Northern Rhone Valley.

Any winemaker will tell you, “It’s all about the terroir”.

The best wine is made in the vineyard. Good vineyard practices, pruning, leaf plucking and of course knowing when to pick are paramount.

Traditional French Oak is a major feature of our wines.

In the case of the whites, the wines are partially barrel fermented and aged for 8 to 10 months on 100% Oak.

For the reds, we ferment in open bin fermenters for maximum extraction, gently basket press and then age in barrel for up to two years.

Domaine Coutelier aspires to create elegant classical wines with a Gallic flair from African Sunshine and the Cape of Good Hope’s cool sea breezes.

Domaine Coutelier offers the Reserve Coutelier, the Coutelier and the Festin ranges. Visit the individual pages for each range to find out more about the wines.
